Story 3 (4): Life Mission – Illusion or Real?
Is your “Life Mission” an illusion? Nowadays, many people believe they have a “life mission” or an “Earth mission.” But what does a “life mission” actually look like? This article explores the “life mission illusion”.
Let’s put it this way: according to some speculations, a deity only needs to instill some memory in you at this moment, set up the environment for that memory, and your life could have just begun a second ago, yet you’d mistakenly believe you’ve lived for decades. In other words, it’s like a video game: as long as the environment is prepared for the character, it doesn’t matter if they are 18 or 28. If you want to add any element to them, just give it. At worst, if the character needs something, we just use some gold coins, buy an English-speaking system, and download it for them. If I want the character to die in a typhoon, I just install the typhoon software.
What is a Life Mission? Is it an Illusion?

So, it seems the gods don’t need to assign life missions to anyone; they can just keep developing new software (making magic). Therefore, if the gods have desires similar to humans, I think our life mission is just to stay properly within the roles we play, and let them observe and feel. But if that’s the case, the gods must be very similar to us humans. Otherwise, would they really spend all day observing ants? It would have to reach the level of binge-watching a drama for them to pay attention all day long.
So, one way to put it is: we are all just walking a life path predetermined by heaven. It’s like the story of Liao Fan’s Four Lessons: a person’s life, down to how many grapes they eat or how many breaths they take, is all fixed. Unless you achieve the so-called charitable goals of the gods, it’s impossible for people to get strawberries just by working hard for them.
In other words, humans have very little possibility of having a so-called life mission. The only possibility is more like: when God is installing the software, they casually press the “life mission” button, meaning, “Let’s add an extra emotion/feeling/thought to this character, and then we in the heavens will observe and see if we should add this ‘life mission’ command to everyone in the future. If it makes the whole game more dramatic and exciting, then we can consider it.”
Free Will or Game Program? The “Life Mission Illusion”

But it’s quite interesting, I actually know a person. His software interface in this life has a mechanism installed called the “Spokesperson for a Certain Deity” command. Heaven also arranged for some people to convey this message to him. But he personally also has another command, called “Stubbornly Skeptical” (Tiěchǐ). The whole thing then becomes a bit like installing too many antivirus programs: the computer often slows down or crashes, and when running programs, it often gets stuck or veers off in an incomprehensible direction. For example, this person sometimes insists that we humans must rely on ourselves and not believe in those temple legends. But other times, he seems to help people remove external spirits or speak in tongues. All in all, it’s just a person bizarrely executing two conflicting commands. Sometimes, just like mentioned above, he really does suddenly crash, and a complete system halt occurs.
So, does this mean humans are living beings with free will? And is everyone living according to their own free will? Or are we just a part of heaven’s will, but we fantasize that our continuous actions can produce something? Going back to the story of Liao Fan, Yuan Liaofan believed he did good deeds, so his life gained more blessings and he got to breathe a bit more of Earth’s oxygen. But, how does he know he wasn’t just following the game rules and got a small program update in the middle? It’s even more possible that the initial design was: this character, Yuan Liaofan, will *think* he understands all this worldly information, and then *think* he has broken through a certain interface. When in fact, all of this is just part of the game.
Conclusion: Don’t Overthink It

Therefore, it’s better not to overthink things as a human. I just hope that when God created me, they added a bit more of that money-attracting mechanism for me.
