A couple of days ago, a shop owner I frequently visit suddenly sent me a message asking about crystals. Later, when I needed to do some shopping, I stopped by, and he asked me in person. The direction of his inquiry was actually a common problem I encounter. However, this owner’s religious belief is a common folk psychic faith. His wife is the head of an “unseen” temple, and the owner himself is also a psychic. The content of his question was actually: “My daughter works at a clinic where there is a lot of low-frequency information and energy. What kind of crystal should she wear to avoid interference from external messages?”
A Psychic Family’s Dilemma
After hearing the question, I looked at him in surprise. Isn’t this an issue that Taiwanese folk psychic believers are skilled at and enjoy handling? Why come and ask me? Most people would directly seek protection from their own faith. After talking in more detail, I understood. Although he and his wife usually help people with spiritual matters, and sometimes they have fellow Daoists and temple heads assisting each other, every time they try to deal with it, they receive messages from other temple heads that his daughters should also start preparing to “do the work” (i.e., become spirit mediums). This caused his wife a lot of trouble. His wife felt that their daughters didn’t necessarily have to go down this path, and they were still young; if they could avoid it, they should. After listening, I shared with him, “I think your wife’s idea is correct. The younger generation has their own thoughts and lives. It’s better to let them develop freely. For example, I’m only about ten years younger than you, but our concepts of religious philosophy are already completely different.”
Seeking Crystals, or Evading a “Calling”?
After listening, the owner didn’t express much of an opinion and directly asked if his daughter could wear obsidian. I replied, “Generally, many people do want to get help from crystals and minerals, for example, to avoid encountering ghosts. But in reality, on this specific issue, the help is very limited. The method I would rather suggest is to delve deeper into this issue, to explore it and make spiritual adjustments. Wearing crystals is actually a minor help.”
The owner didn’t want to accept this suggestion at all. I thought to myself, “Well, then there’s really nothing I can do. After all, his psychic faith is a very important support for him. Why should I challenge someone else’s religious beliefs?”
The owner told me the main reason was that his wife wouldn’t allow it and didn’t want their daughter to go down this path. Otherwise, he himself highly respected his religion and was happy to see these things happen. He just wanted to know if there were any other ways.
The True Way to Ward Off Evil: A Healthy Lifestyle
I thought for a moment. This owner is over 60, and changing his mindset would be very difficult. So I told him, “Indeed, some special crystals can shield some of the light emitted by future ‘workers of light,’ helping them grow with less interference. But what kind of crystal depends on the person. She would need to come and try them on to know.” The owner then started nagging about how his daughter loses everything she wears, seemingly very worried that a special crystal would be very expensive, and began to grumble. So, I had to settle for the next best thing. I suggested the owner could ask his daughter to maintain a regular schedule, sleep before 12 AM at night, get more sun (at least 20 minutes at a time), exercise more, and regularly walk barefoot on the grass to adjust her body’s energy, supplement her “Yang” energy, and harmonize her body’s yin and yang. When the body is healthy, the interference will naturally lessen.
Then the owner grumbled again about various details of his daughter’s life, and I simply ended the discussion with him.
